I've had dogs around me my whole life. Anyone who shares a home with a dog knows what I mean: it goes well past 'pet'. They become family, and they change the shape of your days.
I kept hitting the same wall as an owner. So much of what's sold for our dogs feels lazy: generic, disposable, designed for shelf appeal more than for the animal it ends up with. I wanted to build the alternative I was always looking for.
That's still the test. If I wouldn't put it on my own dog, or hand it to a friend with a new puppy, it doesn't make it into the store.

Every person here has a dog at home, or has had one for so long it shaped who they are. We're not pet-industry veterans hopping to the next vertical. We're dog owners who happened to start a store.
Decisions go past spreadsheets. We ask whether something would actually make life better for a dog and the human walking next to them, and we pass on products that don't clear that bar, even when the margins look good.
Smaller team, fewer decisions by committee, more care behind every order.
